Responsibilities Act as the working lead of a project team of designers forming a multidisciplinary team Lead product integration reviews, mediation in trade-off situations to ensure design solutions are aligned with product attribute targets. Responsible for managing budgets, schedules and deliverables related to the layout Mechanical design and packaging of components to meet product and system-level requirements while optimizing for product attributes. Checking of 3D models and drawings developed by others Delivery of 3D model, drawings, and clash detection reports Top-level product CAD and BOM management, use best practices for ensuring CAD completeness and compatibility, support release process. Ensure the delivery of major milestone reviews for all areas Provide mentorship and supervision to the design team Strong personal commitment to Safety and Quality Requirements Master of Mechanical Engineering with hands-on experience in robotic and control systems. MAZDIS Semi-Autonomous Cargo Trailers enables bicycle as the most economical and environmentally friendly option, to have the towing capacity for a medium to a large load. As an ideal candidate, you are skilled in signal processing, machine learning, optimization, 3-D simulations, computer vision, programming, numerical analysis, image processing, electronics, and communications. You will build systems that process and analyze our diverse semi-autonomous driving data and our neural network training labels to produce analytics. You will research, design, implement, optimize, and deploy deep learning models that advance the state of the art in perception and control for semi-autonomous driving. A typical day to day includes reading deep learning code/papers, implementing described models and algorithms, adapting them to our setting, driving up internal metrics, working with downstream engineers to integrate neural networks to run efficiently on the embedding system, and incrementally tracking and improving feature performance based on the semi-autonomous trailer and leading bicycle. Responsibilities · Train machine learning and deep learning models on a computing cluster to perform visual recognition tasks, such as segmentation and detection. · Develop state-of-the-art algorithms in one or all the following areas: deep learning (convolutional neural networks), object detection/classification, tracking, multi-task learning, large-scale distributed training, multi-sensor fusion, etc. · Optimize deep neural networks and the associated preprocessing/ post-processing code to run efficiently on an embedded device. · Design the software architecture and firmware implementation on hardware through integration, test, and high-volume manufacturing. · Build data pipelines and visualizations that provide actionable insights from the data. · Develop and implement motion planning software and algorithms for autonomous vehicles. · Model both navigation and obstacle avoidance in a dynamic environment. · Design and develop autopilot software architecture, including designing interfaces between subsystems · Collaborate with the control systems, simulation, and modeling teams to design control strategies that can be implemented in software efficiently. · Conduct high-level system design and analysis · Design and implement metrics, applications, and tools that provide data insights. Responsibilities Solving complex design problems and designing mechanical parts from the ground up. Create 3D models using sheet metal and part modelling functionality in 3D CAD software, Solidworks. Create complex drawings and bills of material for sheet metal, bus bar, and assemblies. Developing parts by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assemblies; calculating project requirements determine appropriate methods for fabrication, develop flat pattern layout plan, bring to CAD/CAM design Write, submit, release Engineering changes to new and released product documentation in CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) database using our revision control system. Collecting materials by studying specifications and component requirements; creating BOM for order processing, process materials utilizing efficiency in material yield Applying DFP principals: Minimized part count: Lowering part counts reduces costs, encourages an easy assembly process, and increases the strength of the final design. Simple manufacturing: All designs should be easily completed with requesting bends, cuts, and perforations that can be easily performed with standard fabrication tools. Easy assembly: Simplify the process and reduce assembly time by designing parts that have obvious orientations and fit together smoothly. In addition to universal DFM principles, follow specific guidelines for sheet metal DFM, such as Hole sizes, Hole location, Punch-to-die clearance, Collars and coining, Bend relief, Beads and chamfers, Grain structure: Bends at edges, Corners and points, etc. Work with cross-functional groups with the same goals for the project. Create order lists for prototype units and ensure material is received with Project Managers. Contact with outside vendors and suppliers as needed. Requirements BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Experience with Mechanical Parts and Sheet Metal Design and Optimization with FEA. Simulation experience is required. Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) engineering philosophy. Knowledge of high volume manufacturing processes. Proficiency in FEM, Solidworks (Fusion 360 and CATIA v5 experience highly valued). Experience with transitioning products and processes from prototype to production desired.
